Numbers
Lafontaine & Schmidt (2010) listed two species of the genus Hyperaeschra in America north of Mexico.(1)
Size
Forewing length 14-19 mm. (2)
Identification
There is a prominent black extension of the forewing along the inner margin in both sexes. Hindwing is white in males and gray in the females. (2)
Range
Arizona to Utah, Colorado and western Texas. (3), (4)

Adults fly March to August.
Food
The larval host plants include Querus species (oak). (2)
