Another non-ro*ve - Reticulitermes

Another non-ro*ve - Reticulitermes
Hudson, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA
May 18, 2006
Now see here: You can fool me with a bug, a mite and a wasp, but not with a termite! Actually, I have Tom Murray's taking an early hit on this to thank for my mote of wisdom in this case. I took some earlier termite photos too that I thought was a ro*ve beetle when I picked it up, but they're still sitting about a thousand pix back in the stack to be posted.

Unless I am wrong again, this is a sexually mature termite that has flown, landed and chewed off its wings. I didn't see a mate.
