I noticed this bug yesterday and it is still in the same place 24 hours later.

looks like
Wild Cherry Sphinx - Hodges#7812 (Sphinx drupiferarum)
but i could be wrong it could be a plain old elegant sphinx.
if its under a light, thurn the light off tonight or move it gently onto astick and take it away from night lights, lights befuddle moths.
