Small beetle looking bugs!

Small beetle looking bugs!
San Marcos (San Diego County), California, USA
June 16, 2011
Size: .25 inch, max
What are these bugs!? They appeared about 2 days after I laid out Scotts Naturescapes Mulch (with "Water Smart"). Thousands of these bugs are all over my yard, cement fence and sidewalk. They only seem to show up during the day when it's nice and sunny. At night and early morning I can hardly find them.

Nymphs of the false chinch bug
THANK YOU SO MUCH! In my picture is the Nymphs of the false chinch bug, Nysius raphanus. http://cals.arizona.edu/yavapai/anr/hort/byg/archive/falsechinchbugs.html

something in the subfam. Orsillinae

I took the liberty of cropping your pic.
Only you and the editors can see the full-size version. Everyone else is left looking at a bunch of teeny-tiny bugs with little detail.

These are Heropteran ("true bug") nymphs of some kind. I'll do some looking around. Others may recognize them in the meantime.
