Okay, I actually started searching through this site, and I think that I've identified it as Proctacanthus rufus

Robber Fly of some kind
You'll improve your chances for a more specific ID if you crop your pic as close to the subject as possible ("just the bug" is ideal). Only you and the editors can see the full-size image. Everyone else if left looking at a tiny bug in a big background. :)
