Willow Borer from Pinnacles NM - Xylotrechus insignis - male

Willow Borer from Pinnacles NM - Xylotrechus insignis - Male
North Wilderness Trail, Pinnacles National Monument, San Benito County, California, USA
June 13, 2011
From browsing the BugGuide Cerambycidae pages, I think this is a male Willow Borer (Xylotrechus insignis), see BugGuide page...in particular this image, with female (black ground color) and male (brown ground color) in same image. The yellow markings on the males seem fairly variable.

Found on a leaf of Durango Root (Datisca glomerata) near a creek. Plenty of willows nearby.
