true bug - Cymus angustatus
Harvard, Worcester County, Massachusetts, USA
May 20, 2006
Size: 4mm
Found in the flooded grass at the edge of a beaverpond.

Moved from Cymidae. See here.

C. angustatus -- ID confirmed by Merrill Sweet

thanks for the species id!

I only recognize this guy because I keyed-out a bunch of them recently for a client in West Virginia. Cymidae used to be part of Lygaeidae. Genus may be Cymus itself. Great image showing the fine pattern of punctations.

Thanks Eric
I'm glad you've been keeping busy working on insects that we're eventually submitting.
