Moved tentatively based on Peter Messer's suggestion
he says the beetle matches specimens in his collection

Thanks
Went through the whole tribe but missed that species.

interesting.
the long-jawed, long-eyed head suggests a platynine; the pale pronotal bead, paler elytral margins, and pale legs with femora darkening towards apices and infuscate meso- & metatarsal joints must be diagnostic, but i can't quite wrap my mind around it at this point and would love to hear from others.
