Ladybugs have *very* short antennae
this is a very typical leaf beetle --arguably,
the
most typical, because it's a member of the genus after which that entire family has been named [Chrysomelidae]

They look longer now that I take another look
I actually did scrutinize they length of antennas with my naked eye, but by the time I shot the photos I was convinced it was a ladybug. Needless to say, my eyes are not that good!
