This is a cool beetle up close, but I did not realize when I was shooting the pics.

No comments on the the last frame? Is it just a seed that sprouted? If so, it seems to be wedged in because it is in all of the shots to the degree that that part of the insect is in the frame and in focus.

This is a species of Philonthus in the 'furvus' group. In the west there are many species and ID'ing them from a photo is probably a loosing battle.

OK, this one first...
Also, I am adding a few images. Some I will expect might be frassed, however each show slightly more than current frames. I tried removing the green light, and blue fringing on one and it came out looking virtually black and white. The last frame shows something...a parasite? I wish I had a better "portrait". The face does look interesting. There seems to be interesting mouth parts, however, no good shots.
