This small maroon and orange beetle was spotted on Willow (Salix sp.) at the Claremont Colleges' Robert J. Bernard Biological Field Station. Any information about its identity will be greatly appreciated!

Wow! That was fast! Thanks! I see that the color and pattern appears to vary widely in this species. This one from neighboring Orange County, however, has a similar pattern:
