Very nice close-up
Of a queen's face. She looks pretty wet: did you find her on a rainy day?
An especially dark specimen as for the germana subspecies: the mesoscutellum is only partly red, and the ocellar region has a small c-shaped black marking. This latter is widespread among males, but much rarer in queens and quite exceptionnal in workers.
