Syrphid Flies Mating - Criorhina kincaidi - Female
5 mi. south of Port Angeles, ~2,000 ft. elevation, Clallam County, Washington, USA
June 20, 2011
Size: ~1.8 cm
The male buzzed off, but the female remained for several minutes, flying from flower to flower. We could recognize her by the torn bits on left and right wings.
This shot shows the wing veins better.

It was described by Coquillett in 1901 and I believe that it is named after Kincaid.
