Anthophorine? - Melissodes bimaculatus

Anthophorine? - Melissodes bimaculatus
Vero Beach, Indian River County, Florida, USA
May 22, 2006

Yes.
This is a respectable shot of a female Melissodes bimaculatus. The white spots are rather reduced on this specimen, towards the very tip of the abdomen. One of the most easily recognized members of this large genus:-)

the reduced white suggests:
subspecies nulla

Thanks! I forgot that some of my images are homeless.

Thanks a lot!
The shot could have been better, but I was playing around with some settings and ended up with a noisy picture.

Fine job.
We just get spoiled by the likes of Tom Murray:-) Ha! A second look shows this to be a very nice portrait. Plus, I know how active these insects are. Keep up the good work, sincerely!
