Common Green Bottle Fly - (Lucilia sericata)

Common Green Bottle Fly - (Lucilia sericata)
Boerne, Comal County, Texas, USA
June 23, 2011
Size: 1 cm

Moved
Moved from Flies.

Not sure
This doesnt seem to have the bristles normally found on Lucilia, nor the more extensive green found on the head of Neomyia cornicina.

Do you have any other angles? Are there cows nearby? N. cornicina larvae live exclusively in cow pies; Lucilia has broader tastes.

Good Point
Sorry, the critter only gave me this shot. Have continued to look for him again. No cow pies in the area.
