Weevil - Ischnocerus infuscatus - female

Weevil - Ischnocerus infuscatus - Female
Oak Ridge, Guilford County, North Carolina, USA
June 24, 2011
Size: ~3/8 in
Came to porch light. Found in morning resting on ceiling.

VERY nice weevil, though no relation to Ithycerus
doesn't look similar, either...
pls make sure the IDs are expert-confirmed before moving images to the guide; ID errors may go unnoticed and mislead others.

Moved from Ithycerus.

Whoops.
Thanks again. I see the difference now.
Are you saying that all new images should go through the
ID Request process?
Other editors have encouraged me to go ahead and place images in the
guide.
Also, what about editing the original ID so that I don't look like a fool, and also to get rid of the misleading ID, which pops up in
searches?

title edited -- i hope it's okay now
Stan,
of course there is no point in going thru the ID Request, and you're welcome to post anywhere in the guide, provided you are 100% confident about the ID; otherwise dwell on the safe side and leave the pix a notch or two above --say, at family level.
again, nice find!
