Brown Beetle - Anomala orientalis

Brown Beetle - Anomala orientalis
Churchville PA, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA
June 19, 2011
Size: approx. 1 cm
We find these brown 1 cm-long beetles in the pool, often a hundred or more at a time, but we very rarely see them on any of the many plants in our garden.

Moved
Moved from ID Request.

Anomala orientalis
as John suggested.

Probably
Anomala orientalis (Oriental Beetle), or related species

Brown Beetle = Anomala orientalis?
John,

Thanks. That would explain a lot. I examined several photos of Anomala orientalis after your i.d. Aren't the antenna of our beetles rather differently shaped?

Regards,

Mark McCusker
