Owlfly, Ululodes, Male? - Ululodes macleayanus - male

Owlfly, Ululodes, Male? - Ululodes macleayanus - Male
Beverly Hills, Citrus County, Florida, USA
May 22, 2006
Size: approx. 2 in. all-told
Detail of owlfly, showing the abdominal tufts and divided eye.

Found around 10:45 PM on the wall outside our supermarket. I believe this is Ululodes because of the divided eye, but don't know which species. According to the University of Florida, 4 species of owlfly occur in Florida (3 Ululodes). I can't tell, based on Maria Hartley's picture of macleayana, whether mine fits. The individual I saw doesn't look to me like quadrimaculatus based on the photos here. (Maybe we finally have a shot of floridana! One can hope.)

I think this is a male, despite its spots. It's got the abdominal tufts and slender body, as per discussion following Mike Boone's photo.
