Revised (03 Feb 2012): Acronicta grisea (Hodges #9212)? ;-)


This specimen may be Dagger Moth, and if so may be an example of the Speared Dagger (Hodges #9229). I'm hoping for confirmation or correction of its identity. Thanks! ;-)

Acronicta hasta ?
This is an Acronicta, but I believe it is Acronicta grisea. A tough genus to id!

Hmmm...you may be right about this specimen resembling the Gray Dagger Moth (A. grisea, Hodges #9212). This specimen does look like this BG image, I think:
