I found this very large beetle today. Is it a Strategus splendens?

I'm inclined towards S. antaeus, female
These can present id problems since there is ambiguity in descriptions and details + misidentifications in both collections and on-line images.

I do know S. antaeus is common along the NC coast and occurs inland through the Sand Hills; however, reports of S. splendens also share a similar distribution, but seem much less common.
