Turtle River State Park, Grand Forks County, North Dakota, USA
June 27, 2011
Size: Length 2-3 mm
Last week I submitted a very poor image of a small weevil (see thumb photo below). V belov encouraged me to return to the area and find another specimen and secure a better photo. Today I collected live specimens of this weevil and photographed one of these on a sheet of typing paper. I made seven photos, one of which seems clear enough to submit for taxonomic consideration to BG. I can take more photos, if needed, but I'm at the limits of my camera with this specimen. I'll keep the specimens alive so I can secure more images if needed. Please let me know ASAP. Thanks!

nice -- this is it. thanks, Carl!
these pix are conclusive enough. i hope you save voucher specimens in your collection as a matter of policy, do you? never hesitate to post images of preserved specimens, too.

Thanks to you, v belov!
Thanks for your continuing encouragement! ;-)

PS: I'll preserve a half-dozen specimens in a half-dram vial of 95 percent ethanol.

Two more images...
I decided to give the photography another try, and so I'm adding two more images with the hope one of these will may be useful. ;-)
