Identification
Quoting and/or paraphrasing from key (1):
Aristal hairs much longer at base of arista than at apex, arising all around arista . Parafacial with minute pale hairs. Male midleg twice as long as other legs.

Eastern and Southwestern USA (1)
Food
Females seen on flowers, perhaps (?) taking nectar (guide images).
Life Cycle
Parasitoid of weevils (Conotrachelus). Males, at least, come to lights (guide images).
