Distinctive resting posture, with wings held upright and body held almost vertical. Forms a "Y", while other Pterophorids from a "T".

Guide to the Species of Agdistis

Agdistis americana, which occurs in coastal southern California, is the only species in the genus.
Habitat
Maritime; occurring in salt marshes, seaside meadows and on the rise of cliffs, depending on the species.
