Hmm...

This is tricky. I can't tell from this image if the white markings are actually white setae. Many Leptus are marked with white (e.g. 427267), but some Balaustium appear to have these markings in photographs (e.g. 313963, 116598, and 116595) even though in life they are just reddish. What do you think?

Looking at the photos for Leptus and Balaustium, I think this mite more closely resembles the examples of Leptus. This is based on the photos and from what I remember of the mite. I no longer have the mite. The size also struck me as it was much larger than other mites I have found around here.

White marks

The key are the white marks. Size is much less important. If you can clearly remember distinct white markings then I agree... it's Leptus. From the photo, it appears to have these characteristic white markings. Awaiting your confirmation...
