Have you been seeing a lot of these?
They're all over here in Central Missouri. Especially in shady places with lots of leaves- thick milkweed, stuff like that.

 
I think this was the only one I saw...
I was only in Nashville for a few days, and I don't think I've seen anything like this here in New England.

Cantharid
Trypherus I suppose.
