Nitidulidae? - Epuraea aestiva - male

Nitidulidae? - Epuraea aestiva - Male
Groton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA
June 30, 2011
Size: 3.3mm
Found in a flower cluster.

a pretty unmistakable sp. [euroimport]
the only one with those oversize apical antennomeres in males; habits peculiar, too: larvae in bumblebee nests, adults frequent flowers. no other Epuraea lives like that in NA, and perhaps just one or two spp. elsewhere

Moved from Beetles.

Interesting behaviour
And it's not on Beatriz's non native list yet.

'ou'
i'm also often tempted to stick to the British ways...
i wonder to what do we owe this spelling in your case... childhood in Canada?
re: Beatriz's list: good catch, missed this one

Late at night
and spell check didn't flag it:-)
