Lepidoptera, a gray and red moth - Bertholdia trigona

Lepidoptera, a gray and red moth - Bertholdia trigona
Lyons, Boulder County, Colorado, USA
July 3, 2011
Size: Costal FW about 10-12 mm
This unusual moth was in my husband's shop in the foothills about 6 miles NW Lyons, elevation about 6450'. The upper abdomen is red, the lower abdomen is white, and there is a thin black line separating them. When it climbed up the inside of a glass jar, the yellowish portion of the forewings was translucent and my best guess is that it is a clearwing of some sort? I haven't been able to find a photo of it in my moth books. Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks so much for the ID. I had no idea where to start looking for this "different" moth. But a Tiger Moth makes perfect sense. I appreciate your help.
