Fly--possibly associated with digger bees - female

Fly--possibly associated with digger bees - Female
rural, Dallas County, Iowa, USA
July 3, 2011
Size: 2-3 mm
This seems to be a gravid female. I was observing the mud nests around the digger bee Anthophora abrupta. These small flies seem to be breeding right in front of the nests, then they seem to enter the little tubular nest. Are they parasites or are they associated in some way with the nests?
I have more photos at my blog: http://therousedbear.wordpress.com/2011/07/06/digger-bees/
