Sleeping bees -
Melissodes bimaculatus

These bees have spent the last four nights, perhaps more, sleeping on this Bush Marigold (
Tagetes lemmonii
). Are they the same genus as these I photographed in July 2004?

Anthophorines
I would bet these are Anthophorine bees.

Agreed.
These are all males, too, probably of Melissodes bimaculatus. Neat behavior you have captured here.

Tribe?
We currently have Melissodes under tribe Eucerini not Anthophorini. Is this incorrect?

"Anthophorine" is ambiguous- it can be either Anthophorinae or Anthophorini. I think here the reference is to the former subfamily Anthophorinae, which used to contain both Anthophorini and Eucerini
