Size: 2cm
These flies are very aggressive and will usually bite you if they land on you. They seem territorial and are very hard to photograph because they won't let you get close. I apologize for the blurry image, it's the only photo I've been able to get of one so far and this was with a 300mm lens from a short distance.

I was able to narrow this dow
I was able to narrow this down to what I believe is "Laphria sericea". Anyone agree?
