I have a side shot I didn't work up and post, if that would help.

At the very least I'll get some posterior shots from now on.

I'm sorta stunned that since it waited for me, I didn't get one anyway, I take so many shots trying to get a few excellent ones.

chances are, though, that if your beetle is a female, even seeing the butt clearly may not help: some spp. are hardly distinguishable from females [not uncommon a situation among beetles]
i can't be sure in this particular case, though; Dr Young will comment, hopefully
