Erebidae: Hypoprepia larva?

Erebidae: Hypoprepia larva?
Turtle River State Park, Grand Forks County, North Dakota, USA
July 8, 2011
Size: Length ~ 2 cm
This specimen seems to resemble the one in the photo at the bottom of page 458 in David Wagner's "Caterpillars of Eastern North America".

Wagner's new book on the Noctuids
should be out later this year, so we may know more then.

Moved
Moved from Butterflies and Moths. Yes, Lichen moth caterpillar, but we don't know enough to be able to confirm the genus, sorry :(

Thanks, John and Jane!
How exciting to be on the cusp of new discoveries. In three decades there's bound to be a definitive field guide to the caterpillars of North American. ;-)
