Seemed to be mimicking a wasp - Strangalia famelica

Seemed to be mimicking a wasp - Strangalia famelica
Columbia, Grindstone Park, Boone County, Missouri, USA
July 9, 2011
Found this resting underneath what looked like Queen Anne's Lace... except the plant was like 8 feet tall. Any ideas?

Moved
Moved from Longhorned Beetles.

Thanks! And you nailed the plant, that's definitely what it was. There was a lot of activity going on at it.

Looks to be male
Strangalia famelica solitaria
- and the plant sounds like Heracleum maximum
