Picasa. I have windows 7, and it just occurred to me maybe it's got something I can use. So I'll try on my own and if anyone has suggestions for a better idea/software let me know. Or I can email you the pics. There are about 2 other good close-ups. But a total of about 10 pics. Thx.

Your image software should have an image size feature that allows you to reduce the number of pixels down to 1000 or 1200 or whatever you want.

The wording does seem ambiguous, but my interpretation is that the photo is hers and that what she had found on another site was an identified photo of the species or the genus

sorry! To clarify: As I was trying to post my pics, and it was taking a long time (turns out the others were huge), I was also perusing google for the bug and I found it on a different site. Yes this pic is mine:) Feel free to use it if you want. Should I put a couple of the closer up ones on after I figure out how to down-pixel them?

Down-Pixeling

Picasa is a free program that makes it easy to export images and specify the number of pixels for the exported image (I generally use 1024). Picasa also makes it easy to crop images to an optimal dimension.

I can export and crop but I've never down-pixeled pics, Never works for me somehow. The huge pixel'd pics I took were macro'd I think, And I use the 'fine' setting. It sounds like, from what you said, I can set the export to a certain size? (I've seen that when emailing pic's from picasa) Ok I'll see what I can do. Oh, and thanks for telling me what size to use! That was another question I had.:)
