Dragonfly - Gomphaeschna furcillata - female

Dragonfly - Gomphaeschna furcillata - Female
New Hampshire, USA
June 15, 2011
The rock provided a good camoflage for this specimen, but the details are still pretty clear. I can't find out what this is, but I'm pretty sure it's female. Feel free to correct me if I am mistaken.

Gomphaeschna
Looks like a female Harlequin Darner, Gomphaeschna furcillata.

female Aeshna Darner?
The colors are confusing me. However, darners often turn dark colors when they are cold. It appears to have the right markings, head shape, size, and wing shape for an Aeshna sp. Species ID would be impossible without a side view of the thorax.
