Thanks Charley. I heard Hemlock Woolly Adelgids were in Massachusetts, but this is the first time I've seen them.

I've been seeing them around my house for over ten years
but only recently have started seeing dying trees. When I check out the sick trees, it always seems to be the
elongate hemlock scale
that's to blame, rather than the adelgids.

They look like adelgids to me
Doesn't look like any
Mindarus
sp. has been documented on
Tsuga canadensis
.
