Chris Thompson did the identification! Awesome new species for the bugguide!

Excellent! Congrats to all involved.
Nice, distinctive looking fly.

We're starting to collect a lot of these Florida specials.
Plus some from surrounding states. Maybe these should be grouped, or cross-referenced somehow. Anyone know an expert who can sort them out?

(I'm saying "Florida" sort of generically. Neighboring states can also qualify, and we've had a recent one from Alabama.)

Allograpta sp., male
Toxomerus have a triangular emargination at the hind (side) border of the eyes.

Good info
Thanks, Gerard.

Toxomerus?
Probably a species of Toxomerus, but then again, this specimen is from Florida....:-)

Interesting. Not one of "The Big Three".
Likely that this is one of the Toxomerus species found only in Florida.

(Added later) It's a boy!
