Found in a Hotel - Pediacus fuscus

Found in a Hotel - Pediacus fuscus
Fort Nelson, British Columbia, Canada
July 12, 2011
Size: ~4 mm
Hoping to get a quick response to this as these were found in a hotel room here in town. Bug has four lateral bands on the underside, 11 segments on the intennae, all the same basic shape, 6 legs, 3 main parts of the body, a ridge where the main body opens up. Looked like I saw wings underneath when it opened.

i'm satisfied this is the holarctic P. fuscus, new sp. for BG
thanks for sharing! size corrected.

Moved from Pediacus.

Moved
pls correct size data: '1.20 mm' is completely unrealistic, has to be ~4 times the size

Moved from ID Request.

Size
I completely agree, The bug is actually around 4 mm not 1.20 mm... thats the measurement the digital microscope said for the length.

Thanks for all the comments and i will be examining all the suggestions for identification.

Looks like a Flat Bark Beetle
To me it looks like a Flat Bark Beetle (Cucujidae) of some kind. They have 11 segmented antennae, though the Info page lists them as being 6 - 25mm in size.

Still, the overall body shape looks a lot like this one:

Yes, good call
Looks like Pediacus. Maybe it should be moved somewhere for expert attention.

Beetle, if that helps
Someone will narrow it down from there.
