???Spider??? - Cheiracanthium
Southeast, Wisconsin, USA
May 29, 2006
I found this guy in my bathroom, after I took the picture, it jumped off and landed on me. I freaked out (i've been bitten too many times before) and it ran off somewhere. I've never seen this kind of spider before. At first, it kind of looked like a female Hobo spider...but why would it be here? So, I grabbed my camera and got this shot before it crawled off. It's legspan is about the size of a quarter.

Cheiracanthium - Longlegged Sac Spiders
A common house spider, usually sleeping in silken nests in corners during the day and hunting during the night. There's been considerable discussion here at BugGuide on the danger of a bite from a Yellow Sac Spider. Seems as though not many are bitten and the reaction varies considerably. We would still move it outside carefully by covering it with a glass and then slipping an index card underneath. Many images and comments can be found in the guide here
