Prionus laticollis - male

Prionus laticollis - Male
Whitepath Road area, Gilmer County, Georgia, USA
June 27, 2011
Size: 28-30 mm
I think this individual is possibly Prionus laticollis, male.

The beetle's body length (tip of face to end of elytra) was 28-30 mm long. I count 12 antennomeres on this individual. Habitat was a mixed pine / hardwood forest near a small clearing with large oak deadfall nearby, and pine deadfall further off. Location was at 1600' ASL in the north Georgia mountains.
