.
The infuscation of the wing here matches very well with that of
P. bulbirostris
in Fig. 73 of
Stuke & Skevington (2007)
. In particular, the basal radial cell is hyaline, the 1st posterior cell is mostly dark, the 1st submarginal cell is hyaline apically, and the costal cell is light.
Other key characters visible here for
P. bulbirostris
include: frons entirely black; pleural stripe indistinct in upper half; 3rd antennal segment slender & longer than the 2nd; cheek dark black (barely visible under the eye here), the humeral spot, and overall color. In fact, the agreement between this individual and
Williston's description of the synonym
Conops sequax
is almost perfect...the only descrepancy being the lack of white pollinose dusting on the 6th tergite here.
