Nomada? - Nomada imbricata - Female
Harms Woods Forest Preserve, Glenview, Cook County, Illinois, USA
April 21, 2006
Size: ~9mm
There was an eroded bank over the North Branch of the Chicago River, and larger black bees would land and quickly disappear into holes in the bank. These smaller guys followed them to the bank, hung out around outside the openings, but never seemed to go inside.
