Unknown Beetle. - Triatoma sanguisuga
Maplesville, Chilton County, Alabama, USA
July 13, 2011
Size: 1-1/2 inches.
The red and black bands gave me the impression of armor. The plate on the bottom was convex. Small head. Shiny black. The vivid coloring was a signal to me that this beetle may be dangerous.
