Latrodectus variolus - Female
Liberty County, Florida, USA

This large female was about 7' above ground on a low tree branch. The retreat is identical to those of L. bishopi.

That far south??
The northern widow ranges to Florida? I had no idea!

It
seems they range as far south as Mexico, just past the TX/Mexico border.
