location suggests O. subplanata, rather
the two look very similar but the distribution seems consistent

Question
This individual did not have the red shoulder spots as did my other Osmoderma subplanata. Are the red shoulder spots a variable characteristic? I do have some other images of this one, if there are some other characterisics to aid in ID. Many thanks!
