Pero maybe Pero catalina - Pero catalina

Pero maybe Pero catalina - Pero catalina
Catalina Island, Los Angeles County, California, USA
July 2, 2011
These were somewhat common at lights. I think this could be Pero catalina Poole, a relatively recently described species which is endemic to the island. Compare to Chris Grinter's pinned specimen at MPG. If my guess is correct, this would be another new one for BugGuide.

Moved from Pero. Pretty certain P. catalina is the only Pero on the island, would be fascinating if it wasn't though. Any chance you have specimens?
