Moved from Pasimachus.

Should be P. sublaevis. Nice find.

ID confirmed by P.M. Choate

Thanks Brad
I went back to a photo with a measure. The length was 23mm less mandibles and 25 with. If length is important, would this change your ID?

Length seems right
I collected a specimen of this species about a month ago in Charlotte Co., and it looks just like yours. I also ran yours thru a key to Florida Pasimachus, and it ends up at P. sublaevis.

yup; i did the same thing, with the same result
[grounds for the 'sounds good' remark]
also e-mailed Paul Choate soliciting his opinion [and the status of his comprehensive treatment of FL carabids, too]

Thanks Brad & V.
I also sent an email to Skip. Probably will not hear anything till Monday.

hmmm... sounds good; will ask around
Moved from Beetles.

appreciate it
