caterpillars that are making cocoons all over my house - Thyridopteryx ephemeraeformis

Size: About 1 Inch in length
These Caterpillars are swarming my house in cocoons they made from the bush in my front yard. I opened this cocoon up so that you can see the detail.

What are these? Will they turn into something that would be bad? I'm worried about a swarm of moths or wasps?
