Longhorned beetle with stowaways - Monochamus scutellatus

Longhorned beetle with stowaways - Monochamus scutellatus
Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, Minnesota, USA
June 25, 2011
This longhorned beetle alighted on one of our canoes while my group was setting up camp in the Boundary Waters this June. It had a pseudoscorpion dangling from its leg, and also a bunch of mites (?) on its head and thorax. I hope the beetle makes them pay rent or something... :-D
