Green Caterpillar w/ Black Head Eating Pine Tree - Neodiprion

Size: Abt 1cm
Found in a pine tree eating a pine needle. There were many, many clumps of caterpillars like this one. Every time my flash fired the whole bunch of caterpillars would rear up. It was quite sometime to see this behaviour.

Neodiprion sp. Many species of this genus feed on pines; larvae are difficuolt to identify.
